“ Cool bartender Bill made the best espresso martini! Great ambience! Only went to to bar but looking forward to trying the food one day. ”
“ A staple in the Valley since 1947 - the mood and ambience of this restaurant is unmatched. It's a cool old-school vibe, with a menu that hits the spot. We came for dinner but i'll be honest when you walk in and the you see the saloon doors to the bar i almost beelined it there. We had a party of six so got the opportunity to share a lot of the dishes. We started with Famous Garlic Cheese Bread - hot cheesy and just the right amount of garlic, we also tried the Calamari, Coconut Crusted Shrimp and the Ahi Tuna. All perfect for the table! For main course we had Shrimp Scampi, Baby Back Ribs and the Chicken Picata. Don't miss out on the dessert, the cake is a generous serving and the Beignets are not to be missed. We loved every minute of our time here. Service was fantastic, you can tell the staff have been there for some time and are knowledgeable and let you take your time in enjoying the food and the atmosphere. One last fact - no valet or parking lots, everything is street parking, wasn't hard. to find but always like to share that information ”
“ A Valley staple since 1947!! Came here for my birthday and of course it didn't disappoint!! The food and service are top notch!! Lena was our server and so attentive!! Very old school with big booths and an old timey bar. The owners are very hands on and go out of their way to make sure you have a great evening! I will always go back for a special occasion or anything else!! Thanks guys!! Well done! ”
“ This place is delicious! Classic steakhouse! I could have easily split my prime rib it was so huge . Everything was delicious. Service was excellent . The crowd was older which is fine with me. I'm sure it has a loyal following . Drinks were delicious & peach caprese was unique and farm fresh. I love the big black booths the lighting is nice . ”
“ This place has maintained its own vibes since some 60's and it is going strong. From furniture to walls and some antiques interior takes you back in time! Service was excellent and servers were very attentive. For food, they have plenty of choices, and seem like they have something for everyone. We orders multiple plates to share for the table including steaks, pasta with chicken, salmon, and salad! Everything we order was absolutely delicious. Steak and salmon was cooked to its perfection. Highly recommend this place and will be visiting again soon! ”
“ Provender: this is a great restaurant with amazing ambiance. They have a bar area, accessible by walking through swinging doors, and a separate dining area. The food was well prepared. Staff were friendly and on Friday they had a piano player. This place exudes class. Prices: reasonable for the food they offer, like prime rib or roasted chicken. Parking: they have parking spots on the street. People: leave the kiddos at home. Perks: this is a great place to have a drink or if you're in the mood for something more substantial, like prime rib. Reservations are best on busy nights. ”
“ Step back in time. Enter the world of chops, steaks, red leather booths, and martinis. At Valley Inn Restaurant, it is always 1947. There are three separate rooms: the bar, the boardroom, and the dining hall. Photos of classic celebrities like Clint Eastwood and John Travolta line the wood-paneled walls. In the dining hall, people are sipping martinis in long stemmed glasses. People are eating prime rib, steaks, chops, pasta, burgers, meatloaf, sautéed liver, fried chicken, roasted chicken, and massive slices of cheesecake. Be aware that the food here is huge. Not just a little huge, but insanely huge. For a six dollar split fee, I highly recommend splitting one entrée. You will still wind up taking food home. The owners are incredibly friendly and lovely people. They often have fun little events, like holiday dinners and such. Prices are very high, especially for the steaks and chops. But you get what you pay for, and what you get here is very large quantities of superb food in an old-school environment that feels like a relic of another time. ”
“ Had driven by the restaurant for years but never have dined there, decided to meet a friend there for happy hour, since it was close to the freeway. Sat at the bar, which is a relatively small space, maybe 8 seats at the bar and a couple of small tables. There were a couple seats left at the bar, so bellied up there! There are no "happy hour" specials, so we ordered a few snacks (buffalo cauliflower, fries & calamari) & a couple of drinks. They do have various cocktails on the menu, but stuck with Tito's & Soda. Nice healthy pour & great bartender! The food was hot & tasty. LOVED the cauliflower because it wasn't FRIED! It's always FRIED!!! I only gave it 4 stars because they don't have any happy hour specials! The experience at the bar was so good, I will definitely be back for dinner soon!! ”
“ A throwback to Restaurant Row of the 50's. It's Taylor's Prime Steak West. TVI opened in 1947 and hasn't changed much. Is nostalgia a cuisine? No matter as there is definitely a place for retro food, food that's coming back and never left which is all better than food that's comin' back up. Sirius XM Radio has a station devoted to all 50's so why not a restaurant slingin' it the way it was slung when you were young? TVI is truly O.G. and gives off that Musso and Franks vibe. Woodsy, warm, boothy, comfy, clubby and chummy. The regulars wander in early and find their way to their regular table and hail their regular waiter. The servers are lifers and have outlived many of their regulars but like the Zombie Apocalypse they just keep comin' to where the waiters are waiting which just proves the seniors can still bring it (if you ask a few times and loud enough). This place is a geezer pleaser, so take your Grandparents and don't wait for that special occasion. How bout it's Tuesday and they can still whip that a walker. The menu offers GERD Free options so dive in and order with abandon. Outside the converted house is a curbside campsite tent with some card tables set up. It has that Sheriff Joe Arpaio tented commissary feel to it if you insist on having your Alfredo alfresco. So, wedge into that Lime Green Leisure Suit, take the Moth Balls out of the Nehru Jacket, yank on the Silver Lame Turtle Neck with the Peace Symbol a danglin' and enjoy every bite. The Bar: Classics. What else? Just go with a Dirty Martini and be done with it. Mine was a super sipper with a Blue Cheese Stuffed Olive lolling in the liquid. The Bar Tender can make these in his sleep so you know what to expect...a damn good version. There are some tried and true Wines just in case. The Staff: Seen it, heard it, did it, got photos of it, and remained cheerful despite it all. The Food: There isn't one thing on the menu that you won't recognize. Isn't that kinda refreshing? No QR Cube, no mad googling what's in the dish and no long winded explanations by the waiter. Mashed Potatoes are, well, Potatoes that are mashed. A small Caesar got the party started. It was the garden variety with no frills or chrills besides the lettuce. The salad featured house made Croutons which was a nice touch. Raw Egg and Anchovies? I think not. Keepin' it safe but no complaints either as the Romaine was fresh, crisp and cold. The Dressing was as balanced as a ball on a Seal's nose and just what the doctor ordered. I ditched my mostly plant forward program and fell for the Prime Rib. End Cut, please, cooked to medium with several small cups of fresh Horseradish Sauce to open your sinuses quicker than an Afrin Shooter. Prime Rib was what you had when your Dad got that promotion and a raise. The Prime Rib here was done just right. Two serious big bites and the rest goes home to fill a Taco tomorrow. Nothing fancy, nothing chancy, nothing to make you antzy. So, if you can see your way to eat meat, this chunk will bring a smile to your lips with every chew. A Flourless Chocolate Cake was just that. Suitable for Grandma's 100th or just because who doesn't like to polish off that memorable meal with something chocolaty? It arrived buried under an avalanche of Whipped Cream. Go ahead show your Internist who's in charge. On second thought maybe best to just keep it a secret. The waist band on those Bell Bottoms snugging up, are they? Never mind it's TVI and it's a party. Tomorrow it's Yogurt and Fruit but tonight it's order with your eyes. Me? I'm putting a Make Love, Not War Patch on my Bespoke Armani Sports Jacket and headin' back to TVI for the signature Fried Chicken. ”
